Day 250
first sunburn of the season today....was quite a nice one too. every year, without fail, i get sunburnt early in the season where i hate to get burnt the most, on the chest! sunburn = aging....not cool. why have i not learnt that one needs to put block on from early in spring, particularly down in here in the south island, the sun is viscous. at least i finally found a good sunblock last season that isn't too greasy or smelly, so i have no reason for excuses.

Day 248
finally met up with my friend/hairdresser today, for a well overdue catch up. i haven't seen her since we did the shoot for the competition she won....and that was months ago! obviously i am very overdue for a haircut too.
i went over to her place and hung out with her and her son for lunch. was a lovely relaxed arvo, which in amongst everything that is going on, was pretty damn nice!

Day 247
oh my, only a week until exhibition. everything needs to be finished by friday, and surprisingly, i'm almost done. up until today i was still struggling with how to hang my work. framed? unframed? what size? what paper? arghhhhh, so many decisions!
well i got it sorted - yuss!!!! and all my images basically finished. i can pretty much relax now....oh cept i told andrew i would help him for the rest of the week - so i guess i will still be pretty busy!

in my effort to fix the machine yesterday i managed to slip over with all the water everywhere. it hurt!! this is the result of that fall. luckily there wasn't much to be done today except for sitting in front of a computer finishing off all my images for printing. a week behind schedule, damn it.

Day 245
still feeling pretty gross today, and i had a heap of work to get thru. the weather was good tho so i put a load of washing on first thing. just as the machine was starting the rinse cycle it stopped going.....dang it. we'd had this happen before, it was a hairpin stuck in outwater pipe. so since we 'knew' what was wrong and how it was fixed last time, i decided to have a go myself. actually wasn't that hard...just makes a lot of mess when the remaining water (having hand emptied the machine) sitting in the bottom of the barrel comes out. problem this time - matches. yes, well... an entire box of matches had gone thru the washing machine a few days previously.
so after sorting it, i started the machine again, got a few loads thru and it stopped again. argh! emptied it again....started it again, same thing. so apparently there were a fair few matches in the box.....feck!

Day 241
second shoot today for the remaining pitch models. i have to say it was a lot of fun. wish i could have had more time with each of them to do some more interesting stuff, but for ease we had them all turning up at the same time, so you really didn't want to keep them hanging around.
I managed to nab this shot at the end of the shoot with the last group of girls i shot.

Day 240
ok, so it wasn't hayfever. woke up with the most awful headcold and i had a full day ahead of me that i could not get out of.....
boy and i helped a friend from school out today with a shoot for his final series of work for the year. we weren't assisting but modeling, and to add to the shame of it all we were in role reversal. i figured i deserved to be in such a shoot for payback(in a round about way) to two of my mate's that i made do the same thing back in my first year - although i made them do it in a much more public way.
back into the studio at the end of the day for a shoot with the pitch models. headshots for them all for a competition to win them a portfolio shoot with a talent agency.

had a busy day doing work on my images etc, but ended it with dinner at my cousins house. it's always fun going there and hanging out with the kids, esp as they have totally warmed to boy now. we still hadn't shown them the photos from the shoot we did with them back in september. was great to look over them with them.
only downer was i seemingly have hideously bad hayfever.

catch up today with my girlfriend. she nanny's and so we have a regular (or not so regular) catch up at the arts centre with her little charges. monday's are often the day as she is in town for 'music class'.
the boys were pretty awesome today....man they make me laugh!

Day 232
'current day' shoot at the christchurch art gallery today. needed a modern looking boardroom, and they had just what i needed...i love being 'connected'.
was going to try and shoot my office scene as well - mainly coz it was such an effort to get made up...but really wasn't appropriate...and hey, that's what it's all about aye, managing everything.
shoot went well...poor boys i'd asked to get dressed up in suits and come in - only needed them for all of 10mins. I love my shoots, heaps of prep and then over quick smart!
onwards and upwards, one shoot to go.yuss!
