Day 161

during the week, some billy(namely me) offered boy's and my help delivering the new telephone books, which megs(flatty) was doing as a fundraiser for the school where she is arts co-ordinator.
so early on a rather cold saturday morning one would have to say, we got up and headed out with what little energy we could muster(which is not much at the best of times, let alone this time on a saturday morning)
there had been issues all week with the yellow pages having not being delivered, or only partially delivered, with still more being needed. there were enough books though to go out and do one trip before the delivery of yellow pages that morning, so we stacked up the trailer and off we went.
well.....we didn't get very far...just before we were about to hit the 'motorway', the bolts came off both left-hand wheels of the trailer which left us stranded on the side of the road with a useless trailer full of phone books. thankfully we were onto it, and it wasn't long before we had a new trailer in tow, had transferred all the books and were off on the first lot of delivery's.
that didn't take long and it was back to the depot where the yellow pages still had not been delivered...coffee time! great timing, as we hadn't been back long and the yellow's arrived, and the bun fight was on!
we got enough packaged up and off on the next delivery. that didn't take too long and it was mighty warm by now, so it was rather pleasant walking the streets, dumping books.
Funniest delivery of the day would have to be when we were attempting to put the books in a letterbox thru a fence, and the 'friendly' dogs of the house wouldn't have a bar of it, so while they were being semi-distracted i simply dropped a lot over the fence....yeah, you kinda had to be there.
that done, we were done, well boy and i....off home for a little rest!

About This Blog

365 days has been around for ever (it's probably older than me even). i have resisted the temptation to do one, until now.
i am the photographic artist in residence at christchurch polytechnic, new zealand, this year. a friend decided she was going to do a 365 days, and conned me into doing it too. I figured it would be a great project for the year, and a great way to remember the year. to make it a little more challenging, i decided to take self-portrait each day.
so here goes
